THIS IS OUR 16th ANNUAL SO GET EXCITED!
When this camp-heavy dance party takes place on Valentine's day proper its always extra special ❤
Our Slow Dance is always a raging and festive dance party peppered with slow songs pre-selected by DJs. With DJ Haircut (PS I Love You), DJ LK, DJ Espresso, and Moon Hymns it's sure to be "a night to remember." A true adult prom and re-do of hilarious middle school dances. A campy love affair enjoyed by our community year after year.
**** Special performance from local superstar L.A. Foster!!! *****
As always, designated dancers will be making the rounds, adorned with decorative sashes, making sure that there are no wallflowers. These people are approachable and utterly babely. They'll help you get into the swing of the evening.
Dress code: formal, semi formal, whatever. Wear what makes you feel your best. People sometimes go all out! As always, there will be a photo booth on site.
Come solo, with a date, or with a crew - Valentine's Day doesn't have to suck!
Some notes on health, safety, accessibility and community:
We live in the era of Covid and many other highly contagious illnesses. Masks will be available at all Many Moons Events. Attendees are encouraged to use them and to always stay home if they are feeling sick.
Earplugs will also be available at all events for those who want a little extra hearing protection.
First aid and naloxone kits are on site and can be accessed by speaking to an event organizer or performer at any event.
If you require an accessible entrance or other accommodations when attending a Many Moons Event please reach out. Though all of our events take place in accessible buildings, the accessible entrances are not always the same as the main door entry points. This is the case at our studio at 12 Cataraqui St, Studio one.
If you are made to feel unsafe at a Many Moons Event, please speak to an event organizer or performer so that we can help you. Many Moons seeks to provide spaces for celebratory gathering that are safe for all attendees. Finding best practices to do so is an ongoing process. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, and sexism will not be tolerated at events. Acts of violence, abuse or harassment of any verbal, physical, sexual or other nature will not be tolerated at events.
We need to charge a cover at events to pay for operating costs and to pay artists. Any support you can provide is always so incredibly appreciated. Many of our events operate on a flexibile "pay what you can" model. For ticketed events, you can always contact us if you'd like to attend but cannot purchase an advanced ticket. We're always looking for volunteers. While spaces are available at Many Moons Events, nobody will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
